Recent fame and glory have come via The Confession - first we won the student Oscar for best foreign film in 2010 and in 2011 the film was nominated for the real Academy Award in the short live action category. We didn't win... but did get to see San Francisco on the whirlwind road trip, which was great.
And in June 2011 Splitscreen : A Love Story won the Nokia/Vimeo shorts competition in Edinburgh Film Festival and has since been viewed over a million times on the net, which is also pretty great.
I was born... I grew up... Originally from Finland, I moved to Edinburgh in 1999 for a BA in Film and Media at Napier University. After graduating in 2003, I worked as a freelance editor (the first year also as a part-time baker) in Scotland and Finland, mainly in documentary and television.
In 2008 I joined The National Film and Television School for a 2 year MA in Editing. This gave me the opportunity to focus on developing my storytelling skills and gain more experience in the fiction genre. I graduated in March 2010 and have since been based in London, working for Discovery, Pioneer and vbs.tv among others.
So, onwards and upwards...
